Drupal Issue Tracker, Chrome App

Yesterday I released a Chrome application to provide a simple method for keeping track of Drupal.org project issues. Take a Drupal.org issue number (the node ID) and add it to the app. It will then utilize Drupal.org's REST APIs and keep track of the issue.

An Open Microsoft: Microsoft to open-source more of .Net

Ever since Satya Nadella became the new CEO of Microsoft I've been keeping an eye out on the company. I'm not exactly a fan of Microsoft, but maybe he'll be the driving force that can allow the company to compete in the modern market.

New Website!

I have just migrated my website from WordPress to Drupal, so if you run across any bugs I apologize while I get the kinks figured out. I discovered the hard way Disqus comments do not migrate well, even if its just across platforms and no URL changes.

Website Troubleshooting Tips

Web developers have a lot of their plate - not only do we build custom solutions for a specific purpose, but we have to ensure that solution works in every way possible. That means it has to work properly in Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari, and that each user has the same experience regardless operating system, screen resolution, and internet connection. Oh!

Ubuntu Software Center Not Responding

My son is attempting to be an avid Ubuntu user it seems, quite adventurous for someone not even two. I'm not sure what he did, but he managed to open Ubuntu's software center about twenty times. Next thing I know I am getting a whole of bunch of error logs and "not responding" messages. Next thing I know my applications are missing from the dash home.

XAMPP: Fix automatic script installs

I use XAMPP as a local test server on my Mac for testing and debugging. I mean, nothing is more embarrassing than making file changes to a live site and bringing it down. One thing always bothered me, but not to the point of solving it. WordPress, Drupal, and other CMS software provide built in automatic updates or installation - but out of the box it does not work on XAMPP.
