Privacy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
mglaman.dev is my personal blog. I don't sell data, run ads, or build visitor profiles. This page lists what the site collects, why, and who else sees it.
Analytics
I use Fathom Analytics to count page views and a few events, like newsletter signups. Fathom doesn't use cookies and doesn't store personal data or IP addresses. I see totals, not individual visitors.
Contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, the site stores your name, email address, and message in its database and emails them to me. I use them only to reply. Ask me, and I'll delete them.
Newsletter
The newsletter runs on Buttondown. When you subscribe, your email address goes to Buttondown, not to this site. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Buttondown's privacy policy covers how they handle your address.
Server and error logs
Like most web servers, this one keeps access logs with your IP address, the page you requested, and your browser's user agent. Drupal also logs errors and some requests. I use these to debug problems and block abuse. Logs rotate and are deleted on a schedule.
Server errors go to Rollbar, an error tracking service. An error report can include the URL you visited and your IP address.
Third-party services
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site for caching and security, so every request passes through Cloudflare's network.
- Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, so your browser requests them from Google.
- Embedded content like YouTube videos, CodePen demos, and social media posts loads from those services when a post includes one. They may set their own cookies.
Cookies
Visitors don't get cookies from this site. The only cookie is the login session for site administrators.
Questions
